At Sound Audiology, we offer hearing testing services for both kids and adults. Our audiologists and hearing care specialists are experienced in conducting hearing assessments for people of all ages. For children ages 9 Months and above, we perform visual reinforcement audiology and play audiometry to test their hearing ability. This process involves interacting with the child, playing sound games, and observing responses. Our goal is to make the testing process fun and engaging for kids, while still getting accurate results.

For adults, we offer a range of hearing tests to suit different needs and circumstances. We can conduct hearing tests for NDIS, pre-employment, government hearing tests, referral hearing tests, and more. Our tests include pure tone testing, speech reception testing, bone conduction testing, tympanometry testing, and reflex decay testing. We also provide hearing tests without referrals. If you are a pensioner, we offer subsidised hearing services through the government hearing services program.

Vertigo Assessments- (VNG , SVV and VHIT) Mount Gambier
-Vertigo/Vestibular Assessments we a series of 8 tests to generate a comprehensive report and diagnosis for the vertigo. The results are forwarded to our partnering medical board for evaluation to provide a treatment plan. Please ensure you have a GP referral. Bring this with you to your appointment to obtain a Medicare rebate.

Micro-suction

Pre-employment hearing testing

Each assessment includes:

Relevant case history
Otoscopy (examination of the ear canals and eardrums)
Pure-tone air conduction testing
Bone conduction testing where clinically indicated
Tympanometry to assess middle-ear function

Our testing environment, procedures and equipment are maintained in accordance with relevant Australian Standards for occupational noise and audiometric testing, including AS/NZS 1269.4:2014, Occupational noise management – Auditory assessment, and applicable acoustic and equipment calibration requirements. Our audiological equipment is professionally calibrated annually, and our testing rooms are independently assessed to ensure they meet the required standards for accurate audiometric testing.

Paediatric Audiology

At Sound Audiology we now offer Visual Reinforcement Audiology, allowing us to test babies from 9 months of age. No referral necessary.

If you are concerned with your child’s walking, talking or interacting ability- A hearing test may be necessary to rule out any undetected hearing loss.

We work with a remote team of specialists and Ear, Nose and throat surgeon to undergo a series of tests in clinic including VNG, VHIT and SVV.
